Waveform Mewsic Box 2.0 SCRATCH AND DENT SALE

WE HAVE A NUMBER OF "FACTORY SECONDS" OF THE MEWSIC BOX 2.0. THE SCRATCH AND DENT SALE-PRICED VERSION OF THE MEWSIC BOX 2.0 HAS A FEW FLAWS. WE'VE DISCOUNTED THESE HEAVILY BECAUSE OF THIS AND WHEN THEY'RE SOLD OUT, THAT'S IT.

FLAWS:

1) THE BLACK SIDE AND FRONT PANELS MIGHT HAVE NOTICABLE SCRATCHES ON THEM. THE "ALL-CAT" SIDES ARE MOSTLY FINE. PROBABLY NOT A BIG DEAL.

2) DUE TO A MANUFACTURING ERROR, 3 OF THE 11 HEADER PADS FOR CABLE INPUTS ON THE POWER PC BOARD DON'T WORK CORRECTLY AND THEREFORE SHOULD NOT HAVE ANY HEADERS SOLDERED IN. THEY ARE CROSSED OUT IN BLACK (SEE LAST PHOTO) SO THAT THERE WILL BE NO CONFUSION HERE. THEREFORE, THERE ARE ONLY 8 AVAILABLE SLOTS TO PLUG IN MODULES. IF YOU NEED MORE, YOU'LL HAVE TO USE A FLYING BUS CABLE OR SOMETHING LIKE THAT.

3) THE WAY THAT THE CAPACITORS ARE SITUATED ON THE POWER PCB, IN ORDER FOR THEM TO LIE FLAT, MAXIMIZING OVERHEAD SPACE, THEY HANG OVER THE EDGE OF THE PCB (SEE LAST PHOTO). WHEN SOLDERED IN THEY ARE STILL STABLE AND SOLID. THEY DON'T HAVE TO BE BENT OVER, THEY CAN STAND UPRIGHT JUST FINE AND MOST MODULES WILL FIT OVERHEAD FINE.

NONE OF THE MENTIONED FLAWS EFFECT THE WAY THE MEWSIC BOX 2.0 OPERATES AND YOU PROBABLY WON'T NOTICE THE DIFFERENCES. A SCRATCH AND DENT VERSION OF THE MEWSIC BOX 2.0 IS WHAT IS USED FOR TESTING AT THE VARIOUS WAVEFORM GLOBAL HQs. THE REST OF THE MEWSIC BOX 2.0 IS AS DESCRIBED BELOW AND INCLUDES:

Included in Waveform Mewsic Box 2.0 kit:
4x60 HP Vector rails, rail mounting screws, case sides and front, the power PCB, filter capacitors, DC barrel, shrouded headers, all necessary mounting hardware, stickers.

We're excited to announce the new Waveform Mewsic Box 2.0 4U 60HP Eurorack case! The Mewsic Box 2.0 has 1x3U 60HP row and 1x1U* 60 HP row and is black on one side, and has our Waveform Catwalk heads emblazoned throughout on the other.

*All Waveform 1U modules as well as the Waveform 1U Cat Carrier Case use the Intellijel size format.

Made of FR-4 glass reinforced black epoxy laminate and with options to add a handy plant/mini patch cable holder, our Sound of Mewsic Eurorack speaker mounted on the interior of the case, and more HP-saving Waveform Catwalk utility modules such as the Catwalk Mult and the Cattenuator, we think the feature-rich Waveform Mewsic Box 2.0 is the cat's meow!

The Mewsic Box 2.0 comes only as a DIY kit and you will have to solder some filter capacitors, a DC barrel, and the power headers. You will need a Philips screwdriver and pliers or a small wrench to put it all together, but this is a very doable project for anybody who's ever used a soldering iron. A build guide is found on our Build Guide page.

NOTE: PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING
In order to optimize/further customize the Mewsic Box 2.0 the sliding nuts and power adapter are sold separately.
M2.5, A4-40, and specific M3 nuts work great, but if using M3 nuts, make sure they fit Vector rails. You can purchase the correct M3 nuts from us at checkout for $7 per 100 nuts if needed.

YOU WILL NEED TO PURCHASE THE CORRECT POWER SUPPLY.

MAKE SURE TO USE A 12V AC TO AC ADAPTER, NOT AN AC TO DC ADAPTER.
We recommend the following U.S. AC to AC adapters:

The Mewsic Box 2.0 measures approximately 180mm x 90mm x 305mm and supplies +12V, -12V, and +5V.
How you power it will determine how much power is supplied. We recommend the 2A supply.

Build and use at your own risk! Waveform is not responsible for damage that comes from building, using, misusing, or installing the Mewsic Box 2.0, so take your time and build it correctly. The Mewsic Box 2.0 power PCB is intended for use only with Waveform Mewsic Box and is not sold separately.

**Assembly will be required. Tools needed are Philips screwdriver, pliers or small wrench, and soldering iron/solder.

***Plant/cable holder works best using appropriate size patch cables and plants! Plant cutout is 50mm in diameter.

****The Sound of Mewsic Eurorack Speaker is the same as our module kit, but without the faceplate as it's not needed since the speaker secures to the interior of one side of the Mewsic Box 2.0. It's a pretty easy and straightforward build. Instructions will be included in the build guide.

**Modules shown in photos not included.
