This is the 2nd cassette by the Richmond-based and mysteriously named JP and it’s a tour-de-force of cosmic synth jams. At times, there is a Klaus Schulze feel to the music though some tracks such as “Bruxist” and “Swallowed” have more of a darker undertone than your typical Berlin-school piece. Some of the tracks are minimalist with melodies sitting over a drone while others are layered with fleeting notes over rhythmic tones. This is a varied release but the tracks still flow nicely so there is still a sense of continuity and nothing seems jarring or out of place. Nicely done.
