Outside of your lifetime is the third album by the Danish composer and viola player whose background in classical is evident in this 10-track release of nicely harmonic and concise compositions that were rooted as improvisations. Largely instrumental, the music is electronic-based with the addition of keys, strings, guitars, and the choir-like vocals on “Fields of Grass.” There is a wide range of ideas present from the grandiose minimalism of “Moderato” to the joyfully melodic “Mirror Behaviour” but there is also a sense of warmth throughout the release. The pieces are short, work well with each other, and overall is a very gorgeous record.
