Cosimo - Querci Rimane
by Tom Ojendyk
In a world where nearly everyone plays psychedelia, Cosimo Querci stands out from the pack with Rimane, his release of alluring delay and reverb drenched Italian psych that ties together Italian and German underground music with post-punk. As far as I can tell, this is Guerci’s debut release, and his ideas come out of the gate fully formed. He plays most of the instruments and sings in Italian and the one-sheet references This Heat offshoot Lifetones, along with the great and underrated Italian band Sensations’ Fix, which piqued my interest. Querci’s music indeed uses those bands as springboards, incorporating post-punk-infused dub and electronic prog sounds filtered through the modern underground. A really exciting release from someone who shows a lot of promise.
