Julia Bondar - Fatalism

Julia Bondar - Fatalism

by Ian Rapp

Released June 2025, so it's been a minute, but is there any time that could use some dancing more than in the midst of winter? Julia Bondar's most recent full length, Fatalism, sees the addition to her canon of some seriously dark dance tracks.
With some special guests; The Toxic Avenger, Glush Response, and Quinquis all lending a hand, Fatalism is a synthy industrial delight, and the Ukrainian born, Barcelona based Bondar shows her mastery of not just the instruments she uses (Endorphin.es, of course!), but the craft of songwriting.
Right from the get go, "love is found" grooves with it's slinky bassline and electronic impulses, setting the tone for what lies beyond. Repetitive synth lines draw you in and her slightly above whispered vocals (and the near-constant thumping of the kick drum) keep you there. "bad girl" is a two-minute burst, all acid on the "and;" tried, true, and tested with its "I'm a bad girl" vocal refrain getting the point across. Closer (feat. Quinquis) is an effervescent come down; the party might be ending, but Bondar makes sure the journey back to reality doesn't do any permanent harm; you'll be ready for more sooner than you think.
