Highly experimental music from Chilean sound wizard and transdisciplinary artist Nicole L’Huillier that stems from a recording of a collaborative installation of Moche whistling vessels, Respuestas is made with contact microphones, electromagnetic sensors, and various self-designed listening devices. The sounds were manipulated and twisted into warped, sinuous collages and are highly immersive and zonked out, with the bewildering, deep sonics being unpredictable and, at times, quite dark and heavy. Even though the sounds originated from an exhibition, they also stand well on their own as an intriguing musical expression. If you're a fan of musique-concrète or various other forms of avant-garde, you will enjoy this release.
