Grey Magic is a long-distance collaboration between Standard Grey in Nara, Japan and Garden Magik in Dublin, Ireland. Who knows how many times these recordings shuttled across the ocean or over the wires to be mixed by one, modulated by another, processed, enhanced and stripped back down again. 
Dark in texture, dense as something trying to break through. Eight calls, eight ethereal movements, with some pulsating, some droning, some groaning heavily. Others sway and breathe but all call out to work their conjuring on you. The second half [side two in the cassette version] of Grey Magic resonates deeply with slow swells and the diminished cries of nature calling out to not be forgotten. A beautifully crafted piece of work.
