Mute Records founder Daniel Miller and producer Gareth Jones get out from behind their respected desks and come together as Sunroof to bring us their debut collaboration, Electronic Music Improvisations Volume 1. The album was improvised on modular synths and is extremely compelling, showcasing all aspects of their decades of musical expertise and experience. Elements of Cortini, Dead Can Dance, Subotnick, and many others, EMIVI runs the electronic gamut. Composed in real time, with both men being in the same room together and nothing planned out, Electronic Music Improvisations Volume 1, is an excellent listen, and a testament to collaboration.
